Your Tasks
- Communicate with the sales team, customers and/or field service personnel to evaluate the processes, specifications, and requirements for the project.
- Develop technical solutions and generate technical/commercial proposals in cooperation with the sales team. Review proposals and technical information for scope, completeness and feasibility.
- Select major components and develop preliminary process designs during the sales phase and finalize the process design during the project phase.
- Sizing of process equipment to include major equipment plus fans, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, ducts, etc.
- Develop performance based specifications for process equipment and process requirements for instrumentation.
- Develop mass and energy balances for process systems.
- Work with drafting to create preliminary engineering drawings for use during the sales process. This includes process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
- Prepare detailed estimates of equipment and operating costs from budget to firm level of accuracy. Ensure completeness and accuracy of estimate.
- Prepare proposal document. Ensure accurate reflection of technical specifications, process guarantees and scope.
- Complete documentation and facilitate handover of as sold projects to project engineering and project accounting team.
- Provide final process engineering calculations and process specifications for projects.
- Coordinate teams of process engineers and consolidate information for development of designs and proposals involving multiple unit operations for air pollution control trains including equipment designed at other Dürr offices. This may include Fabric Filters, Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems and Thermal and Catalytic Oxidizers.
- Collection of field operating data and troubleshooting manufacturing and process issues.
- Provide technical service to customers relating to use, operation and basic maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with process evaluations and compliance testing at customer sites.
- Participate in product development and standardization activities.
- Periodic travel required to evaluate customer processes and existing systems, to gather data, to perform pilot testing or to troubleshoot equipment installations.
Your Skills
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred)
- 5+ years’ experience
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)AutoCAD, SolidWorks experience, ChemCAD and/or PLC software experience is a plus
- Previous experience with air pollution control equipment is preferred. Experience with industrial wastewater treatment equipment and/or process liquid piping systems is a plus.
