Equipment Test Specialist

Your Tasks

  • Perform functionality testing after mechanical and electrical pre-power checks are completed by level III tester.
  • Verify equipment alignment, level and tram
  • Coordinate procurement of material for testing
  • Set up, troubleshooting and proper adjustments of coating processes, dryer parameters and web handling to ensure functionality of complete equipment line to customers performance specifications.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing and R&D resources as needed to drive results
  • Collect performance data to improve product design and refine run parameters
  • Create standard documentation including equipment set up procedures, quality checklists, and customer acceptance criteria



Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Execute test protocol to validate equipment functionality.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment problems.
  • Investigate questionable test results and quality problems and recommend solutions.
  • Collect and maintain a database of equipment adjustment parameters, set points  and resulting coating quality measurements
  • Create documents and control revisions of standard set up procedures and testing protocol
  • Create documents and control revisions of standard FAT and SAT procedures and checklists
  • Identify and submit upstream process improvement ideas to streamline testing
  • Work closely with engineering and R&D to drive process improvements and efficiencies in testing results
  • Sub assembly of mechanical and electrical components using hand tools as required.
  • Read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics and be able to adjust logic in electrical programs.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Contribute to advancing the learning and development of the company’s overall knowledge of the coating process
  • Participate and perform internal assessments, audits and inspections of finished products as necessary.
  • Travel will be required for Site Acceptance Testing, training and assisting service technicians with advance equipment issues on site.
  • Review and update technical test reports for distribution to customers and Durr Megtec technical support team.
  • Create and maintain quality checklists and CTQ documentation
  • Work with Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality to ensure product conformity
  • Perform other duties in relation to job role as considered appropriate by management.

Your Skills

  • Bacheleor of science degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical technology or Associates degree with hands on testing experience accepted
  • Previous industrial equipment testing experience required
  • Ability to drive results from a cross functional team
  • Basic PLC programming and other types of components programming.
  • Computer experience with Oracle or SAP. MS Office (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) required.
  • Previous coating experience a plus
